The Sheridan County Board of Commissioners met in regular session at 9 A.M. In the Commissioners Office, Courthouse. All members present. Kling stated that the meeting would be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Nebraska Open Meeting Act a copy of which is posted on the North wall of the chamber and brochures available on the guest desk. Andersen made a motion to accept the agenda. Krotz seconded the motion. All voted aye. Krotz made a motion to approve the minutes of 10-21-2013. Andersen seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.
The board signed salary checks.
Ed & Kathleen Jesse appeared to state their objection to the appointment of Adam Edmund and Joe Stecher as Special County Attorneys to investigate and prosecute them in three cases against them. The board explained that Judge O’Gorman appointed them at the request of County Attorney Dennis King who declared a conflict of interest in the cases. The board explained that this was not something they could do anything about.
Road Superintendent Tom Kuester presented the board an engineering study recommending the installation of a 3 way stop at the intersection of 480 Lane and 560 Road. Andersen made a motion to approve resolution #2013-26 authorizing the erection of 3 stop signs to control the intersection of 560th Rd and 460th Lane in order to promote safety upon the County Highways. Krotz seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.
Kuester reported that the county road crews were now on the winter work schedule of 5, 8-hour days per week.
The board was scheduled to meet with Maintenance Superintendent, Sones but was not successful.
The board met with Sheriff Robbins to conduct a quarterly inspection of the County Jail. There were no findings of deficiency.
