Board of Education Minutes District No. 81-0010, January 13, 2014

TIME-PLACE: The regular meeting of the Board of Education of District No. 81-0010, Sheridan County, Nebraska, was called to order by Chuck Hinn, President, in the Conference/Board Room, located at Gordon-Rushville High School, 810 N. Oak Street on Monday, January 13, 2014, at 6:00 p.m.

MEMBERS PRESENT: Hinn, Gilchrist, Willnerd, Johnson, Kruger

EXCUSE ABSENT MEMBER(S): It is moved by Kruger, seconded by Willnerd, to excuse Hebbert from the Gordon-Rushville School Board Meeting.

Roll Call: Johnson YES, Hinn YES, Kruger YES, Gilchrist YES, Hebbert ABSENT, Willnerd YES. Motion Carried 5-0.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS: President: It is moved by Willnerd, seconded by Johnson, to nominate Chuck Hinn for Board President, by a vote of 5-0.

Vice President: It is moved by Johnson, seconded by Willnerd, to nominate Mark Kruger as Vice President – by a vote of 5-0.

Secretary: It is moved by Willnerd, seconded by Gilchrist to nominate Karel Hebbert as Secretary – by a vote of 5-0.

Treasurer: It is moved by Johnson, seconded by Kruger, to nominate Kathy Willnerd as Treasurer – by a vote of 5-0.

Roll Call: Johnson YES, Hinn YES, Kruger YES, Gilchrist YES, Hebbert EXCUSED, Willnerd YES. Motion Carried 5-0.

MINUTES: It is moved by Willnerd, seconded by Johnson, that the reading of the minutes of the District No. 10 Regular Meeting of December 9, 2013, be dispensed with and the minutes be approved as distributed to members.

ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS: 1) Mr. Nelsen, 2) Miss Liggett, 3) Mr. Slama, 4) Mrs. Hensley, 5) Mr. Plummer, 6) Mr. Stetson.

FINANCES: It is moved by Johnson, seconded by Kruger, that the District 81-0010 – Gordon Rushville General Fund bills in the amount of $ 801,658.80, be approved as presented.

It is moved by Willnerd, seconded by Johnson, that the District 81-0010 Depreciation fund bills in the amount of $9,986.22, be approved as presented.

It is moved by Willnerd, seconded by Gilchrist, that the District 81-0010 Lunch Fund bills in the amount of $ 27,041.22, be approved as presented.

It is moved by Kruger, seconded by Johnson, that the district 81-0010 Cooperative Fund bill in the amount of $900.00, be approved as presented.

It is moved by Willnerd, seconded by Gilchrist, that the District 81-0010 General Fund Transfers from the Investment fund in the amount of $ 155,000.00, be approved as presented.

Financial reports were reviewed.

BIDS FOR INSURANCE: Discussion to open bids for the District 81-0010 Insurance Coverage. This is done every two year period.

SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL PROGRAM: It is moved by Kruger, seconded by Gilchrist, to approve the letter of support for Safe Routes to School Program as presented.

AMERESCO: Information only. Preliminary work session review. 

NEGOTIATED AGREEMENT: It is moved by Johnson, seconded by Willnerd, to approve the certified staff Master Agreement for 2014-2015, pending selection of EHA Health Insurance options to be included in the document by the certified staff and notification of such to the superintendent, with Master Agreement to reflect this choice.

SURPLUS PROPERTY /FACILITIES: No Action

EXECUTIVE SESSION: It is moved by Willnerd, seconded by Kruger, to move into executive session at 7:09 for negotiations.
