The Sheridan County Board of Commissioners met in regular session at 10 A.M. in the Commissioner’s Office, Courthouse. All members present along with several High School students participating in County Government Day. Kling stated that the meeting would be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Nebraska Open Meeting Act a copy of which is posted on the North wall of the chamber and brochures available on the guest desk. Andersen made a motion to accept the agenda. Krotz seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Road Superintendent, Kuester met with the board along with representatives from NMC Cat and Murphy Tractor to make a decision on the motor grader. Kuester recommended the JD 772 GP Motor Grader that was bid by Murphy Tractor. Andersen made a motion to accept the recommendation of the Road Superintendent to purchase the JD 772GP for $269,099 less trade in value of $57,750 for a price of $211,349. Krotz seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.
Sheriff Robbins met with the board to discuss the purchase of a car on state bid. Sides & Milburn can get a 2015 Ford Taurus with the police package for $26,447 or an Explorer. Robbins felt that the Taurus would suit his needs better and be better on gas mileage. Krotz made a motion to go ahead with the purchase of the 2015 Taurus from Sides & Milburn for $26,447. Andersen seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.
