The Sheridan County Board of Equalization met in regular session at 9 A.M. in the Commissioner’s Office, Courthouse. All members present. Kling stated that the meeting would be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Nebraska Open Meeting Act a copy of which is posted on the North wall of the chamber and brochures available on the guest desk. Andersen made a motion to accept the agenda. Krotz seconded the motion. All voted aye. Krotz made a motion to approve the minutes of 2-10-2014. Andersen seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.
Assessor Winter visited with the board about a mobile home that her office had accelerated the tax on in 2007. No notification of acceleration was sent out to the owner. They have paid the taxes and penalties, but do not feel that they should have had to pay the penalties. Winter informed the board that she will visit with the County Attorney and get back to the board.
The board and Winter visited about some permissive exemptions that may need to be resent.
The board visited with Winter about the use of the County car, Winter informed the board that she only uses it when she needs to review a property. The board asked that she leave the car parked at the Courthouse rather than at her house.
