The Sheridan County Board of Commissioners met in regular session at 9 A.M. in the Commissioner’s Office, Courthouse. Kling and Krotz present. Andersen was excused to attend a Tax Equalization and Review Commission hearing in North Platte. Kling stated that the meeting would be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Nebraska Open Meeting Act a copy of which is posted on the guest desk. Krotz made a motion to accept the agenda. Kling seconded the motion. All voted aye. Krotz made a motion to approve the minutes of 6-16-2014 with corrections. Kling seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.
The board signed claim checks and audited and approved salary claims.
Clerk of the District Court Eloise Kampbell was present to ask for more funds in the Jury Commission budget. An unexpected jury trial in county court expended more funds than available in the 2013-2014 budget year. Krotz made a motion to adopt resolution #2014-12 authorizing $1500 be transferred from the Miscellaneous General Budget to the Jury Commissioner Budget. Kling seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.
The board reviewed a request for subdivision approval from Open Range Beef, LLC. Krotz made a motion to approve resolution #2014-11 authorizing the subdivision for Open Range Beef, LLC in Section 21, Township 33 Range 41. Kling seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.
Road Superintendent Tom Kuester reported that Road District #31 would like to use their funds to transport gravel for a section of 400th Trail north of Antioch. The County will provide gravel, the motor grader and an operator to spread gravel.
