The Sheridan County Board of Commissioners met in regular session at 9 A.M. in the Commissioner’s Office, Courthouse. All members present. Kling stated that the meeting would be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Nebraska Open Meeting Act a copy of which is available on the guest desk. Krotz made a motion to accept the agenda. Andersen seconded the motion. All voted aye. Krotz made a motion to approve the minutes of 7-21-2014 with corrections. Andersen seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.
The board audited and approved claims.
Joe O’Donnel, manager of the Rushville American Legion Club, requested permission to use the south parking lot of the Courthouse as a beer garden during Rushville Fun Days August 29 and 30. Krotz made a motion to grant permission to the Legion for that use. Andersen seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.
Melvin Ziegler and Jack Beguin appeared to request pit-run material for the reconstruction of 448th Trail. Ziegler informed the board that he will pay for the transport and application. The board approved 20 loads of pit run for the project.
Beguin informed the board that 470th Trail could use some work too. Kuester will look into it.
Road Superintendent Tom Kuester reported the theft of several thousand dollars worth of crushed rock/roailroad ballast from the Cowboy Trail project. Chuck Lemp project contractor may choose to prosecute the matter. The board agreed to support his efforts.
The board conducted their quarterly inspection of the County Jail and found no significant problems.
