Notice is given that on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, in the City of Rushville, Nebraska, a Special City Election will be held at which there will be submitted to the electors of the municipality for their approval or rejection, the following proposition:
PROPOSITION NO. 1:
“The City Council of the City of Rushville, Nebraska, currently imposes a sales and use tax in the amount of one percent upon the same transactions within the City on which the State of Nebraska is authorized to impose a tax. Shall the City Council of the City of Rushville impose an additional sales and use tax in the amount of one-half percent upon the same transactions within the City on which the State of Nebraska is authorized to impose a tax, pursuant to the Nebraska Local Option Revenue Act for all lawful municipal purposes; which purposes shall include but not be limited to the continued maintenance and financial support for the operation of the Parkview Lodge Assisted Living Center, 307 Conrad Street, Rushville, Nebraska 69360, which one-half percent City Sales and Use Tax shall automatically terminate April 1, 2019, unless the tax is extended by a vote of the electorate prior to that date? “
( ) FOR said sales and use tax
( ) AGAINST said sales and use tax
Electors deciding to vote in favor of the proposition shall mark an “X” in the parenthesis preceding the words “FOR said sales and use tax”.
Electors desiring to vote against the proposition shall mark an “X” in the parenthesis preceding the words “AGAINST said sales and use tax.”
The polls will be open at 7:00 A.M. and will continue until 7:00 P.M. on the same day and the voting places shall be the same places as for all other general municipal elections in the City.
Sec. 4. The City Clerk shall cause a certified copy of this Resolution to be delivered to the Sheridan County Clerk.
The foregoing Resolution having been read, Council Member Matt Jansen seconded the motion for its passage and adoption, and after consideration thereof, the roll was called on the passage and adoption of said Resolution and the following Council Members voted aye:
Matt Jansen, Brian Snyder, Steve Willnerd.
The following Council Members voted nay: None.
The passage of the Resolution having been consented to by more than a majority of the Members elected to the council was declared passed and adopted this 25th day of August, 2014.
