The Sheridan County Board of Commissioners met in regular session at 9 A.M. in the Commissioners Office, Courthouse. All members present. Kling stated that the meeting would be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Nebraska Open Meeting Act a copy of which is available on the guest desk. Andersen made a motion to accept the agenda. Krotz seconded the motion. All voted aye. Krotz made a motion to approve the minutes of 12-8-2014 with corrections. Andersen seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.
Jenny Nixon, Panhandle Research & Extension Center Educator presented the board with a list of candidates that are willing to serve on the Sheridan County Extension Board. With resignations and term limits 6 positions need filled. Andersen made a motion to approve Alan August, Linda Andersen, Nicole Louden, Nicole Jansen, Vern Terrell and Skyler Ryan to the Sheridan County Extension Board. Krotz seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.
Building Superintendent Dwaine Sones met with the board to discuss the possibility of replacing windows in the courthouse. Because of the complexity of such a project the board asked Sones to consult with our Architect, Hewgley.
The board also visited with Sones about the wiring in the Courthouse. The board felt that a review by a professional engineer was needed.
The board also directed Sones to advertise the cleaning for a contract labor person. The buildings can be broke out separately or all together.
Road Superintendent Kuester reported that his department would host a safety training event on loader and motor grader safety on January 12 and 13th. NIRMA will lead the training event for county employees from Sheridan, Dawes, Box Butte and Cherry Counties.
