The Sheridan County Board of Commissioners met in regular session at 9:50 a.m. in the Commissioners Office, Courthouse. All members present. Kling stated that the meeting would be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Nebraska Open Meeting Act a copy of which is available on the guest desk. Krotz made a motion to accept the agenda. Andersen seconded the motion. All voted aye. Andersen made a motion to approve the minutes of 12-21-2015. Krotz seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.
The board signed salary checks.
Building Superintendent Dwaine Sones, Barb Retzlaff and Gyna Gordon met with the board to discuss possible wage increases and supervision. No action was taken at this time.
Road Superintendent Tom Kuester discussed with the Board a letter that they had received from a property owner regarding maintenance on a “local” road. After some discussion the Board determined that the road was being maintained same as other “local” roads.
Discussion was held reference the Employee Handbook on possible revisions that would designate the Friday before the last Monday of the month as payday on those rare occasions when the last Monday of the month does fall on a holiday. The Board will visit with the Elected Officials and Department Heads for approval.
Sherry Retzlaff met with the Board reference the 2016=2017 Juvenile Justice application and a request for the Chairman to sign it for submission. Andersen made a motion for Day Kling to sign the 2016-2017 Juvenile Justice Grant. Krotz seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.
