Notice of Public Hearing April 14, 2016 Gordon

PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given by the Mayor and Council of the City of Gordon, Nebraska that a public hearing will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2016, at 7:00 p.m., in the Council Room at the Gordon City Hall, 311 North Oak Street, in Gordon, Nebraska, 69343.  The purpose of the hearing is to obtain public comment prior to the consideration of a resolution of the City declaring the below-described area of the City as blighted and substandard and in need of redevelopment pursuant to the Community Development Law, Chapter 18, Article 21, Reissue Revised Statutes of Nebraska, as amended.

The property that is the subject of this notice and of the public hearing is described as follows:

Beginning at the northwest corner of Lot 2, Gordon South Addition, City of Gordon, Nebraska: thence southerly along the west lot line a distance of 430 feet to the southwest corner of Lot 4, Gordon South Addition ;thence easterly along the south lot of said Lot 4 a distance of 199 feet to the southwest corner of Lot 7, Gordon South Addition; thence continuing easterly along the south lot line of said Lot 7 extended a distance of 208 feet to the west lot line of Lot 8, Gordon South Addition; thence southerly along the west lot line of said Lot 8 a distance of 20 feet to the southwest corner of said Lot 8;thence easterly along the south line of said Lot 8 a distance of 150 feet to the west right-of-way of Main Street; thence southerly along the west right-of-way line of Main Street a distance of 111 feet to the south right-of-way line of Ross Street extended; thence easterly along the south right-of-way line of Ross Street extended a distance of 438 feet to the east right-of-way line of Elm Street; thence continuing easterly along the south property line of the American Legion Addition a distance of 574 feet to the southeast corner of the American Legion Addition; thence southerly along the west lot line of Outlot “B”, City First Addition a distance of 209 feet to the southwest corner of said Outlot “B”; thence easterly along the south lot line of said Outlot “B” a distance of 566 feet to the southeast corner of said Outlot “B”; thence northerly along the east lot line of said Outlot “B” a distance of 770 feet to the south right-of-way line of US Highway 20;thence easterly along the south right-of-way of US Highway 20 a distance of 110 feet to the east lot line of Lots 7 to 12, Block 14, Moshers Subdivision extended; thence northerly along the east lot line of said Lots 7 to 12, Block 14 a distance of 422 feet to the south right-of-way line of Bay Street; thence westerly along the south right-of-way line of Bay Street a distance of 510 feet to the east right-of-way line of Spruce Street (vacated);thence southerly along the right-of-way line of Spruce Street (vacated) a distance of 422 feet to the south right-of-way line of US Highway 20; thence westerly along the south right-of-way line of US Highway 20 a distance of 1,737 feet to the point of beginning.

All interested parties shall be afforded a reasonable opportunity to express their views at the public hearing regarding the proposed blighted and substandard declaration.
