The Sheridan County Board of Commissioners met in regular session at 9 A.M. in the Commissioners Office, Courthouse. All members present. Kling stated that the meeting would be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Nebraska Open Meeting Act a copy of which is available on the guest desk. Andersen made a motion to accept the agenda. Krotz seconded the motion. All voted aye. Andersen made a motion to approve the minutes of 3-21-2016. Krotz seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.
Salary checks were signed.
The board discussed the possibility of offering family health coverage to employees when the county employs both spouses. At this time the County only offers single coverage to each. The family option offers advantages to employees at no additional cost to the County. Andersen made a motion to offer family coverage to employees who both work for the county and to forward information on to County Attorney for review. Krotz seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.
Road Superintendent Kuester did not meet with the board.
The board discussed bills that might impact county operations. Of particular concern are the property tax legislation. No decisions made.
