Commissioners Minutes April 25, 2016

The Sheridan County Board of Commissioners met in regular session at 9 A.M. In the Commissioners Office, Courthouse. All members present. Kling stated that the meeting would be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Nebraska Open Meeting Act a copy of which is available on the guest desk. Andersen made a motion to accept the agenda. Krotz seconded the motion. All voted aye. Andersen made a motion to approve the minutes of 4-18-2016 with corrections. Krotz seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.

Salary checks were signed.

At 9:30 A.M. Road Superintendent Tom Kuester met with the board. Kuester advised the board of rising water in the southern part of the county. Kuester advised the board that he had 2 interviews scheduled for full-time employment for the Gordon area this week.

Chairman Kling advised Kuester that he had been approached about the intersection at Ruth Gealy and Krebbs Sale Barn. Had a very large mud hole.

At 10:00 A.M. Andersen made a motion to accept the proposal of AMERESCO for the energy conservation- upgrade project for the Law Enforcement Center and Courthouse. Krotz seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.

At 10:48 A.M. Krotz made a motion to go into executive session regarding personnel and legalities.

Andersen seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.

At 11:25 A.M. Krotz made a motion to come out of executive session having given guidance to counsel and no action taken. Andersen seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.

At II :30 A.M. Jim Schild, Jenny Nixon and Meredith Bremer of UNL Extension met with the Board to answer questions in reference to the 4-H Assistant position. After much discussion Krotz made a motion to increase the County share support for the 4-H Assistant by $7,726.00 for the fiscal year 2016-2017 funds permitting. Andersen seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.

Assessor Amanda Lane met with the board to discuss scheduling for June and July. Lane advised the board that Shavonna Henry will be going to the TERC hearings scheduled in July.
