Board of Equalization Minutes June 13, 2016

The Sheridan County Board of Equalization met in regular session at 9 A.M. in the Commissioners Office, Courthouse. All members present. Kling stated that the meeting would be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Nebraska Open Meeting Act a copy of which is available on the guest desk. Krotz made a motion to accept the agenda. Andersen seconded the motion. All voted aye. Andersen made a motion to approve the minutes of 5-12-2016. Krotz seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.

The board opened the public hearing on the matter of a permissive exemption for the Gordon Legion Club. Assessor Lane stated that only the bar portion of the building is classified as a business operation because it is open for more that the number of hours per week allowed by statute. There was no testimony from the public. At 9:10 A.M. the board closed the hearing. Andersen made a motion to approve the partial exemption for American Legion Post #34. Krotz seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye. 

Lane presented the board with two corrections for approval. Andersen made a motion to accept the correction for Thomas Tuchek giving him full exemption on his property due to disabled veteran status. Krotz seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.

Andersen made a motion to accept the correction for Donald M Mann giving him full exemption on his property due to disabled veteran status. Krotz seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.

The board set July 5-7 and July 11-13, 2016 as the additional protest hearing dates.
