The Sheridan County Board of Commissioners met in regular session at 9 A.M. in the Commissioners Office, Courthouse. All members present. Kling stated that the meeting would be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Nebraska Open Meeting Act a copy of which is available on the guest desk. Andersen made a motion to accept the agenda. Krotz seconded the motion. All voted aye. Andersen made a motion to approve the minutes of 6-13-2016. Krotz seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.
The board signed claims and audited and approved salary claims.
Trish Loosvelt and Kris Ferguson met with the board to update them on the progress of the Cowboy Trail funding. They anticipate a $200,000 grant from the federal Recreational Trail Program and have nearly raised the 10% local match.
Road Superintendent Tom Kuester informed the board that he is getting complaints about the logging trucks kicking up dirt on Beaver Wall. The ground water levels in the south part of the county are beginning to decline, easing some of the flooding problems.
Kuester reported that work has begun on 600th Road Southeast of Gordon and there is about two miles remaining to be graveled on 590th Road.
The board met with Dwaine Sones, Barb Retzlaff and Gyna Gordon about vacation time.
Krotz made a motion to go into executive session at 10:10 A.M. for the purpose of preventing needless injury to the reputation of an employee. Andersen seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.
Andersen made a motion to come out of executive session at 10:31 A.M. Krotz seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye. No action taken.
Krotz made a motion to communicate in written form any requested leave time by an employee of the Building & Grounds department. Andersen seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.
Krotz informed the board that he will be meeting with Tyler Glesne of Ameresco on Tuesday.
