The Sheridan County Board of Equalization met in regular session at 9 A.M. in the Commissioners Office, Courthouse. All members present. Kling stated that the meeting would be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Nebraska Open Meeting Act a copy of which is available on the guest desk. Andersen made a motion to accept the agenda. Krotz seconded the motion. All voted aye. Krotz made a motion to approve the 10-11-2016 minutes . Kling seconded the motion. With a roll call vote, Kling and Krotz voted aye and Andersen abstained.
Assessor Lane presented the board with a report showing personal property changes for J & L Grocery, Lawntec K-Lawn, Fred Wellnitz and Pitney Bowes Global Financial Services. No action of the board was needed.
The board visited with Lane about a decal or magnet for the County Car that her office will be using for field work. She will be getting a quote from Jama at Copy Shoppe and will report back.
The board discussed with Lane about when a residence should be added to the tax rolls. Lane stated that whenever you start building a house is when she should be notified. However the statutes do not state when a new residence should be added. The statutes say it should be reported by December 31 of the year it is erected.
