The Sheridan County Board of Commissioners met in regular session at 9 A.M. in the Commissioners Office, Courthouse. All members present. Andersen stated that the meeting would be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Nebraska Open Meeting Act a copy of which is available on the guest desk. Paul made a motion to accept the agenda. Krotz seconded the motion. All voted aye. Paul made a motion to approve the minutes of 7-17-2017. Krotz seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.
The board signed claim checks and audited and approved salary claims.
Clerk of District Court, Carol Stouffer presented the board with an agreement for approval. Krotz made a motion to authorize the chairman to sign a subgrant agreement with the Department of Health & Human Services for the Child Support Enforcement Program for the Clerk of District Court and the County Attorney. Paul seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.
Road Superintendent Tom Kuester informed the board that he had purchased a used sheep-foot packer for $4,850. The board approved a claim for reimbursement.
Tony Armer representing Mainelli Wagner & Associates Inc. out of Bridgeport was present to introduce himself.
Kuester explained that work on some roads are being delayed until harvest is complete so that heavy truck traffic doesn’t break down the base causing further damage to surface.
Consultant Susan Lore reported on her activities in the Assessor’s Office. At this time she has facilitated several informal valuation hearings reducing the number of formal hearings required to be heard. Lore will continue to work with the Assessor’s office training staff and working on property cards, etc.
