Rushville City Council Minutes, March 26, 2018

The meeting was called to order by Steve Willnerd Council President at 6:00 p.m. as per the Municipal Code of the City of Rushville, Sheridan County, NE. Notice of the meeting was given by publication in the Sheridan County Journal Star on March 21, 2018 as required by law and delivered to the Council in person. Present: Jansen, Willnerd, Snyder Lovell. Absent: Mayor Heiser.

The following motions were duly made, seconded and passed.

1. To approve, accept and ratify the following items listed under the consent agenda: February minutes & Treasurer’s Report.

2. Approved Audit report 

3. Approved all of the following bills for the City of Rushville and that warrants be drawn for same: Ayes: Snyder, Willnerd, Jansen, Lovell. Nays: None.

Motion carried.

Under public comments Diana Robins-Mansel presented a book called 13 Ways To Kill Your Community. She has read the book and said it is very interesting. She left the book for members of the Council to read.

Jim Gardner from Gardner, Loutzenhiser, and Ryan was present to give the audit report. He informed the Council there are about $3,000.00 in uncollectible water bills and that the utility deposits need to be posted. The Golf Course and Sewer are both at a deficit. Wages for Golf Course employees were up. He also noted that the City cash reserve can be no greater than 50% of the expenses. Councilman Snyder moved to approve audit report. Seconded by Councilwoman Lovell.
