$1,100 Break-in: Native Futures’ electronics stolen, broken

By Lauren Brant

When Edison Red Nest III arrived in Gordon on Monday, April 30, he unlocked the Native Futures building to find it in disarray. Someone broke into the business over the weekend and stole two of the electronics, the television and Wii console were smashed along with space heaters, and other items were left scattered across the floor.

According to Gordon Police Chief Clay Heath, the incident was reported to the Gordon Police Department and they are currently investigating it. There are no solid leads at this time. The estimated cost in theft and damages around $1,100. Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact the Gordon Police Department at 282-0308.

Red Nest serves as a community liaison between Native families, schools, and police by offering an environment for students to get engaged in their community and culture.
