LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Gov. Pete Rickets will travel to Europe this summer as part of his administration’s first international trade mission for Nebraska.
Ricketts will visit Italy, Belgium and Denmark with delegates from June 7-15. The trip is designed to promote Nebraska agriculture and businesses abroad and encourage new foreign investment in the state.
In a statement, Ricketts says cultivating trade relationships in a global economy is crucial to ensuring the state economy remains strong. Ricketts announced the trip at the Emerging Ethanol Issues Forum in Omaha.
The governor says parties that want to learn more or participate in the trip can call the Department of Economic Development or the Department of Agriculture, which are organizing the trip. Representatives to contact are Joe Chapuran at 402-658-1138 or Stan Garbacz at 402-471-2341.
