Buffalo Bill park sets celebration for 50th anniversary

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (AP) - Buffalo Bill Ranch State Historical Park in North Platte has scheduled a celebration on Aug. 22 for the park’s 50th anniversary.

There will be blacksmith demonstrations by a relative of Buffalo Bill Cody, living history events and character re-enactments. A vintage baseball game will be played with 1864 rules and appropriate era equipment and uniforms.

A $5 buffalo stew feed will be served from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. There also will be live music and a campfire outside Scout’s Rest Ranch barn.

A Nebraska park permit is required on all vehicles. For more information, call the ranch at 308-535-8035.
