Nebraska Junior Duck Stamp Winners announced

The Nebraska Junior Duck Stamp contest was judged March 25, 2024 at the West Nebraska Arts Center, Scottsbluff, Neb. Junior Duck Stamp designs are judged in the K-3, 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12 grade groups, for which first place (3 ea), second place (3 ea), third place (3 ea) and honorable mention (16 ea) winners are chosen.

2023 Hawks grad Braydon Binger recognized at State FFA

Braydon Binger, a 2023 graduate of Hay Springs High School, was recognized at the Nebraska State Future Farmers of America (FFA) Convention this past weekend, April 6 and 7. Binger requested a group of supporters to join him on stage during the event to show his appreciation of their support over his educational years.

Top spot awarded for 2024 GRMS March Mammal Madness

The results are in and the winner in the annual March Mammal Madness (MMM) at Gordon-Rushville Middle School is 8th grader Joel Montenez-Rodriguez. Montenez-Rodriguez earned the top spot with the best bracket in the entire school for the event.

The Nebraska Range Short Course and Grazing School team up in 2024

The 2024 Nebraska Range Short Course is teaming up with the Nebraska Grazing Lands Coalition (NGLC) Grazing School on June 25 – 27, 2024 at the Spring Lake Ranch south of Gordon, Nebraska to host an event that will give individuals an opportunity to increase their skills with grazing, rangeland management, and livestock production.

All 3 fire departments come together to stifle blaze in Rushville

By Scott Bidroski As the sun faded into the horizon on Thursday, April 4, a call came into the Rushville Fire Department for a house fire in the city of Rushville. The property at 506 Sprague St., which is owned by Kirby and Bobbi Johnson, was in need of assistance after an accidental fire began in the garage.

Rushville’s Board of Health is now active and new Ordinances are in play
