Arbor Day is a civic holiday with special ties to Nebraska. In 1872, a man by the name of J. Sterling Morton came to the Nebraska Board of Agriculture with the idea that a special day be assigned for the planting of trees. This holiday, called Arbor Day, was first observed with the planting of more than one million trees in Nebraska, and is now celebrated all over the world.

The Gordon-Rushville High School Drama Department is proud to present their spring play to the public this upcoming weekend. “A Family Reunion to Die For” is the name of the performance and it was written by Mike and Matt Steele.
