Opal Marie Wheeler

Opal Wheeler, 94, of Alliance, died Friday, March 22, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family and friend.  At her request, cremation has taken place at Jolliffe Funeral Home in Scottsbluff.  Memorials may be made in care of the family.  Online condolences may be left at www.jolliffefuneralhome.com.  Jolliffe Funeral Home in Scottsbluff is in charge of arrangements.

Opal was born January 15, 1919 in Gordon, Ne to Ben and Mary Grace (Cottier) Randall.  She was raised a ranch kid around Gordon and in South Dakota.  She attended school at St. Mary’s School in Springfield, S.D.  She was an RN and served in the US Navy in WWII as a Navy Nurse.  She enjoyed reading, crocheting, baseball, audio books and being around her family.

She is survived by her children Pauline Bullard, Harlana (Gary) Olsen, and Henry David Wheeler; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Her grandparents Henry and Minnie Cottier, parents, infant daughter Mary Grace Wheeler, husbands Robert Paul Carter and Harlan Essex preceded her in death.
