On Sunday, May 6, 2012, Mr. Robert Louis Bachman of Vermilion, Alberta, Canada, passed away at the Vermilion Health Care Complex at the age of 69 years after a brief battle with cancer.
Bob is loved and remembered by his wife of 24 years, Marilyn of Vermilion, his children: Tanis (Ross) Robertson of Saskatoon, Karen Welker of Saskatoon and Colin Welker of Calgary; two granddaughters Paula and Paige Robertson; brothers: Ben (June) Bachmann of Vermilion, Bill (Sherry) Bachmann of Tenino, Washington; his niece and nephews: Robert (Corinne) Bachmann, Ron (Lois) Bachmann, Leanne (Cameron) Michaud, Aaron (Heidi) Bachmann, Chris (Kimberly) Bachmann; aunt: Ida (Hank) Ehlers; sister-in-law: Barbara (Owen) Pratt; nieces and nephew: Nicole (Ray) Love, Brandon Pratt, Carlee (Matt) Brattan; as well as all of his great-nieces and nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin and Bessie Bachmann.
Bob was a 1960 graduate of Gordon High School. He received his teaching degree from Chadron State College in 1964, taught in Washington for one year before moving to Vermilion, Alberta, Canada, where he taught high school for 33 years until his retirement in 1998. He enjoyed cooking, canning, baking, traveling, gardening and being Papa to Paula and Paige.
A Celebration of Bob’s Life was held on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at the Vermilion Regional Centre, Vermilion. Donations in memory of Bob may be made to Friends of Vermilion Health Care Complex or the charity of your choice.
