Robert “Bob” Jaggers was born December 5, 1923 to Jennie and Robert M. Jaggers in Alliance, Nebraska. Bob was a lifelong cattle man. He married Rosemary Peters on May 24, 1945. They began ranching southwest of Hay Springs. He went to auctioneering school and in 1955 Bob and Rosemary bought Sheridan Livestock in Rushville, Nebraska where he remained until 1983. He truly loved the cattle business and livestock sales. Bob was devoted to his family, spending time boating, water skiing, camping, fishing, and vacationing with them. Bob is survived by his wife, Dorothy, his three children Sharyl Batterman, Marilyn Jaggers, and Doug (Kathy) Jaggers, Grandchildren Chris Batterman, Robyn Batterman (Nathan Handley), Jeff (Melissa)Jaggers, Mike (Ami) Jaggers, Great-Grandchildren Thea, Rhemy, Aleigha, Brandon, Mikayla, Bret, Morgan, and Kyle. Also, step-daughters Sandy (Dale) Heth, Cheri (Gary) McQueen, Diane (Dan) Kenney, Debby (Steve) Byers, Terry (David) Hildebrand, Susan Kunkee and 13 step-grandchildren and 11 step- great grandchildren. As well as brother and sister-in-law Richard and Janet Jaggers and 23 nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his first wife, Rosemary, great grandson Matthew and brother and sister-in-law Bill and Billie Rae. A memorial service was held Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at 10:00am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Rushville, Nebraska with burial at St. Mary’s Catholic Church cemetery in Hay Springs, Nebraska. A memorial has been established for the Rushville Fire & Rescue Squad and Hay Springs Fire & Rescue Squad and donations may be sent in care of Chamberlain Chapel, P.O. Box 970, Chadron, NE 69337
