Ruth Hazel Wacker

Ruth Hazel Wacker, was born May 26, 1923, on a farm near Wayne to Ernfrid and Goldie (Ireland) Allvin.  She attended rural school at District #45 in Wayne County, graduated from Wayne High School, and attended Wayne State College.  Ruth served in the Women’s Army Corps stationed at Fort Sheridan, Illinois from 1944–1946.  Following her military service, she returned to Wayne and worked for Dr. Goblirsch as a dental assistant.  Ruth married Elmer Wacker March 25, 1951, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wayne.  The couple farmed near Wayne for many years, moving into Wayne in 1996.  In 2006, the couple moved to the The Oaks Retirement Community in Wayne. Ruth was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed playing the piano and, most of all, her time with family.

Ruth is survived by her children and spouses,   Janet (Dan) Roberts of Fremont, Judy (Steve) Martindale and Deb (Bob) Clarkson of Concord, Myrna (Dave) Tuttle of Laurel, Mark (Nancy Breitkreutz) Wacker and Byron (Liza) Wacker of Wayne, Ward Wacker (Denise) of Gordon, Eunice Wacker  (Wm. Aaron) Woehler of Omaha; sister, Dorothy (Herb) Brader of Oakland; a sister-in-law, Judy Allvin of Norfok; 21 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren;  nieces and nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer in January 2010; an infant son, Bruce; sisters, Violet Arp and Donna Nelson; brothers, Carl, Jerry, and Dean Allvin.

Ruth’s family appreciates your thoughts and kindness and invites you to lunch in the church fellowship hall following the committal service.
