Steve Orr

October 1st 1949- October 20th 2016

“Steve” Stephen Charles Orr, 67, of Rapid City, S.D., formerly of Rushville and Chadron Neb., passed away in his home Thursday, Oct. 20th, 2016. His spirit is carried on by his son Jason, his wife Maya and two sons of Sidney, Neb.; daughter Andrea, her husband Davor and two sons of Bountiful, Utah; son Bradley of Melbourne, Australia; parents Leo and Rose Gordon, Neb.; brother Monte of Hay Springs, Neb.; sister Donella of Fort Calhoun, Neb., and friends of every walk of life. He will be reunited with his birth mother, Faye Mitchell Orr, in the great beyond.

He loved riding his Honda Goldwing motorcycle through the Black Hills with his girlfriend, having coffee with friends, taking daily walks through the city park and fixing anything that was broken. He lived a vigorous life, full of fun and laughter, until the end of his thirty-year battle with diabetes. He was a skilled pharmacist for all of his working career, and was a life long learner.

Family and friends will celebrate his life during a service held Thursday, October 27th at 10:00 a.m. within Chamberlain Chapel in Chadron, Neb. Per his wishes he will rest next to his mother at Rushville Fairview Cemetery, as well as have his ashes scattered at the Orr Family Ranch in the beautiful sandhills. This will allow him to watch over loved ones and places of peace.

In lieu of flowers, please consider giving to Steve’s Memorial at Chamberlain Chapel which will be donated to the American Diabetes Association to help find a cure. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Chapel, PO Box 970, Chadron, NE 69337.
