Dolores C. Nydahl, 88, of Lincoln, Neb., formerly of Chadron, Neb., died Sunday, March 25, 2018, at The Arbors in Lincoln, Neb. Graveside services were held Saturday, March 31 at Greenwood Cemetery in Chadron.
Dolores was born Jan. 23, 1930, on the family farm outside of Gordon, Neb., to CJ and Florence (Glover) Cunningham. She grew up on the farm, attended District 80 Meadowvale School until 8th grade and graduated from Gordon High School in 1948. On Dec. 30, 1950, she was united in marriage to William (Bill) Nydahl in Gordon, Neb. She and Bill made their home in Chadron where they raised their four children. In 2008, they moved to Lincoln to be near their children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, a sister, Marva Holst of Gillette, Wyo., and sisters-in-law, Helen Kling and Norma Nydahl of Gordon; her children, Brad Nydahl of Bend, Ore., Kirk (Kathy) Nydahl of Phoenix, Ariz., Laurie (Randy) Fahey and Scott (Kristi) Nydahl of Lincoln, Neb.; grandchildren Kristin, Joe and Tom Nydahl, Melissa and Tracy Madsen, Allison, Spencer and Turner Fahey, and Alex, Aubrey, and Alayna Nydahl. She was blessed with 8 great-grandchildren: Logan, Clara, Emma, Audra, and Wyatt Sweeney, Lily and Ike Nydahl, and Everly Fahey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Wayne Cunningham, sisters and brothers-in-law, Hope (Hugh) Saxton, Doris (Harlan) Carpenter, Bonnie (Johnie) Stephens, Floyd Kling, Claude Nydahl, and Larry Holst.
Chamberlain Chapel in Chadron, Neb., is in charge of arrangements. A memorial has been established for the United Methodist Church in Chadron, Neb.
