The Gordon-Rushville Lady Mustangs traveled to Martin, South Dakota on Friday night to play the Bennett County Warriors and came home with a 45-31 victory. The Lady Mustangs came out aggressively and ended the first quarter with a 13-7 lead. The second quarter found both teams struggling to score points and at the half the Mustangs held a 20-10 lead.
In the third quarter, both teams came out with an up-tempo approach and each team scored 12 points in the quarter for a score of 32-22. The Mustangs held off the Warriors in the fourth, making seven free throws to hold on for the 45-31 victory.
Scoring: Morgan Sones led the way with 11 points, Sara Marlatt had 10; Brandi Roth, 7; Ashton Sasse, 6; Dani Campbell, 5; Hali Sahr, 3; Cirsten Hinn and Brittany Hoagland each had one point.
