The Hawk wrestling team used four 1st place finishes, two 2nd place finishes and two 3rd place finishes to finish third as a team at the Crawford Invite on November 30.
Levi Ray pinned his way to the championship in the 132 lb. class with pins over Mitchell Mansfield of Sioux County, Jake Johnson of Hay Springs, and Joe Kriz of Crawford.
Jake Johnson finished 2nd in the 132 lb class.
Joey Johnson finished in 1st place in the 138 lb. class with wins by pin over Cody Mueller of Mitchell, and Robert Ellis of Minatare and a 12-8 win over Austin Barnes of Lingle Ft. Laramie, Wyoming and a 10-7 decision over Bryce Sturman of Lusk, Wyoming.
Kolten Marx defeated both his competitors in the 160 lb. class with pins over Trevor Benge of Hemingford and Darin Lemmon of Crawford.
Stevin Horrocks was the Hawks final champion in the 220 lb. class. Horrocks won a 6-4 decision over David Gifford of Banner County, pinned Mathew Davis of Hemingford, got a forfeit from Trey Sterkel of Mitchell, and won by pin over Riggen McIntosh of Lingle Ft. Laramie.
Chris Ray joined Jake Johnson by finishing in the runner-up position. Ray pinned Mikayla Taylor of Mitchell in 2:09 and won by pin over Garrett Tinsley of Mitchell in 5:38. Ray won by major decision over Merritt Hageman of Lingle Ft. Laramie 12-1 but lost by decision to Josh Zulkoski of Mitchll 5-2.
Jordan Houser went 2-2 on the day to finish 3rd in the 170 lb. class, with wins over Henry Adams of Mitchell and Frank Kohoer of Minatare and losses to Josh Kling of Sioux County and Brendan Swanson of Mitchell.
Patrick Biesterfeld also finished in 3rd place in the 195 lb. class.
Riley Abbott wrestled in the 220 lb. class, but didn't place, going 1-3 on the day.
The Hawks finished third as a team with 104 points.
