Lady Hawks pick up another win, fall to Warriors

The Lady Hawks picked up their third victory of the season Friday night with a 55-14 win over the Lady Wildcats of Banner County, before losing a close contest Saturday night to the Leyton Lady Warriors 35-24.  

The Lady Hawks hurried out to a 14-2 first quarter lead and led the Lady Wildcats 31-9 at the half.  The Hawks defense continued to hold the Lady Wildcats at bay in the second half outscoring them 24-5 in the final sixteen minutes of play.  

The Lady Hawks were led by two players in double figures.  Stephanie Tlustos finished the game with a double double with 15 points and 15 steals, as well as 3 assists, while Kodee Muhr finished with 15 points and 4 steals.  Elizabeth Roberts also had a great game finishing with 9 points, 6 rebounds, 5 steals, and 4 assists.

On Saturday night, a scoreless first quarter by the Hawks was the difference in the game as the Leyton Lady Warriors held a 10-0 lead at the end of the first quarter and a 16-6 lead at the half.  

The two teams played almost even the entire game with the exception of the first quarter.  The Lady Hawks were led by Elizabeth Roberts with 9 points.  She also added 4 rebounds and 3 blocked shots.  Kelsey Waite led the Lady Warriors with 8.  

The Lady Hawks will host Cody-Kilgore on Thursday, Gordon-Rushville will come to town on Friday, and the Hawks will travel to Potter on Saturday.
