Lady Mustangs fall in Holiday Tourney championship

By Randy Hurlburt

The Lady Mustangs traveled to Alliance for the Holiday Tournament Championship game.  They played a very aggressive Alliance team.  Both teams started out with physical defense and cold offense.  At the end of the first quarter Alliance held a 5 to 3 lead.  The second quarter was much of the same, both teams played very good defense, making it difficult to score points.  The Lady Mustangs found themselves down 14 to 9 at half time.  Alliance came out in the third quarter determined to win the game and outscored the Mustangs 15 to 8 and took a 29 to 17 lead.  The Mustangs didn’t give up and battled very hard through the whole game, but came up short, losing 30 to 44.

The Lady Bulldogs were 10 for 23 from the Free Throw line while the Mustangs were 3 for 9.  The Mustangs were led in scoring by Sara Marlatt with 10, Hali Sahr had 9, Brandi Roth had 5, Morgan Sones had 4 and Cirsten Hinn had 2.
