The Lady Hawks made an early exit from the Panhandle Conference tournament on Tuesday for the first time in many years. The Lady Hawks opened the tournament against Edgemont, South Dakota and lost a disappointing game 32-31. The Moguls held a slim lead in all four quarters with the Hawks failing to ever gain the upper hand. The Moguls led 12-10 at the end of the first and 20-18 at the half.
The two teams played even in the third quarter with each team scoring seven points. The Hawks did outscore the Moguls in the final period but it wasn't quite enough as the Lady Hawks lost a one point heartbreaker. The Lady Hawks were led by Stephanie Tlustos who finished with 9 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 assists. Elizabeth Roberts added 7 points and 8 rebounds.
The Lady Hawks will have a busy week next week when they host Hemingford on Tuesday night and travel to Harrison on Friday night. They will also be making up the Gordon-Rushville game on Saturday at home.
