Hawks fall in first round

The Hawks boys basketball team dropped a 43-32 decision to the Edgemont Moguls in the first round of the Panhandle Conference tournament held in Crawford last week. The Hawks fell behind early trailing 11-6 at the end of the first quarter and 21-18 at the half.  

The Hawks cut the deficit to two points at the end of the third quarter but were stifled down the stretch. The Moguls were 8 of 9 from the freethrow line to help secure their victory.  

The Moguls were led by two players in double figures.  Mason Ostensen finished the game with 15 while Miles Englebert added 11.  The Hawks were by Regg Strotheide with 14.  

The Hawks will host Hemingford on Tuesday and travel to Sioux County on Friday.  The Hawks will also play a make-up game against Gordon-Rushville at home on Saturday.
