The Lady Mustangs traveled to Scottsbluff on Friday and Saturday to play in the Western Trails Conference Tournament in WNCC’s Cougar Palace. On Friday they took on the Kimball Longhorns. The Mustangs were looking for some revenge as the Longhorns beat them by four points earlier in the season.
The first quarter was fast paced and ended with the Longhorns up 12 to 8. The second quarter was much of the same. The first half ended with the Mustangs down by three, 21 to 18. The third quarter found both teams shooting better. The quarter ended with the Mustangs down by four, 37-33. The fourth quarter was exciting with the Mustangs cutting the lead to 2 before falling back down by 4. They then had to foul to stop the clock and the Longhorns did not miss their free throws.
