The Lady Hawks basketball team seems to be on a roll of sorts over the past couple weeks. The Lady Hawks won two of their three games this past week and three of their last 5 contests. The Lady Hawks opened play last week on Tuesday in Hyannis with a 62-54 victory over the Lady Longhorns.
The Lady Hawks got a fast start against the Lady Longhorns leading 18-9 at the end of the first quarter and 36-24 at the half. The Lady Hawks had a strong third quarter to open the second half while holding the Lady Longhorns to just four points to extend that lead to twenty-nine with one quarter left to play. The Lady Longhorns refused to go away though and made a valiant effort in the fourth quarter, but the Lady Hawks held on for the eight point win.
Elizabeth Roberts had a career game with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Whitney Heiting and Stephanie Tlustos also finished in double figures with 16 and 12 points respectively. Tlustos also added 7 steals.

Thursday night, the Lady Hawks hosted the always strong Lady Mustangs of Little Wound school in Kyle, South Dakota and ran into a buzzsaw, losing a 71-41 decision.
The Lady Mustangs, always a run and gun sort of team, raced out to a 15-5 first quarter lead and led 29-19 at the half. The Lady Mustangs had another strong second half, adding to the Lady Hawks woes both offensively and defensively. The Lady Mustangs outscored the Lady Hawks by 20 in the second half.
Stephanie Tlustos finished the game with a double-double for the Lady Hawks with 12 points and 15 rebounds. Elizabeth Roberts finished with 10 points and 7 rebounds. Frances Around Him led the Lady Mustangs with 19 points.

Saturday night, the Lady Hawks avenged an early season loss to the Edgemont Lady Moguls by defeating them at home for Parent’s night 47-24.
The two teams played very close in the first half with the Lady Hawks holding a three point advantage at the half 19-16. It was the Lady Hawks defense in the third quarter that opened up the game as the Lady Hawks held the Lady Moguls to just a freethrow in the third quarter. The Lady Hawks finished strong in the fourth putting another seventeen points on the board while holding the Moguls to just seven.
The Lady Hawks got another stellar performance from senior Elizabeth Roberts who finished the game with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Stephanie Tlustos added 12 points and 13 rebounds. Kodee Muhr also finished with 10 rebounds to go with 2 points. Kyla Porter led the Lady Moguls with 13. The Lady Hawks record now stands at 6-12.
The Lady Hawks will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to Crawford. They will also host their final regular season game on Saturday against Garden County.
