Coach Turnbull-Campbell named West Nebraska All-Star coach

The volleyball coaches have been selected to lead the West and East teams for the 29th annual West Nebraska All-Star Volleyball game. This year’s game will be played Saturday, June 1, 2013 in Scottsbluff at Cougar Palace on the campus of Western Nebraska Community College. Game time is 2 p.m. MDT.

Gordon-Rushville’s own Coach Kim Turnbull-Campbell has been selected as the Head Coach for the West. This is Coach Turnbull-Campbell’s second time coaching in the All-Star game. She previously served as the West head coach in 2004.

This past season, Gordon-Rushville finished with a record of 11-21, losing to Chadron in the semifinals of the C1-12 Sub-Districts.

Kim Davis of Chadron High School has been chosen as the assistant coach for the West squad for this year’s game.

Leading the East volleyball team this year is Shelly Byrn from North Platte St. Pat’s High School. Valerie Kershner from Sutherland High School will serve as the assistant coach for the East squad.

A portion of the proceeds from the West Nebraska All-Star Volleyball game benefit many local charities.

Coach Turnbull-Campbell is pictured receiving a plaque and ball signed by her team commemorating her 300th victory as a head coach. All 300 wins were with the Mustangs.
