Both girls teams out after first subdistrict game

The Hay Springs Lady Hawks and the Gordon-Rushville Lady Mustangs both started post-season play last night in the first round of subdistricts. The Lady Hawks faced the Sioux County Lady Warriors in Gordon and the Lady Mustangs faced the Chadron Lady Cardinals in Alliance.

The Lady Mustangs got off to a slow start in the first quarter, only scoring three points, while Chadron scored 25 to take a commanding lead. The Cards added 14 in the second to give them a 39-7 lead at the half. The Mustangs were able to get things going in the second half, scoring 22 points, but Chadron added another 21 of their own to advance to the subdistrict finals on Thursday with the 60-29 win.

The Lady Hawks led the Lady Warriors for most of the game in Gordon last night, but were unable to hang on to the end as the Lady Warriors came from behind to win 42-35 and advance to the subdistrict finals on Thursday.

Congratulations on great seasons Lady Hawks and Mustangs!
