The rededication of Rushville’s historic Modisett Ball Park is set for August 31, as part of the annual Fun Days weekend.

Carpentry work continues on the grandstands, and the concession stand and rest rooms still need furnishing.

Metal bleachers have been erected on both sides of the grandstands, and a handicap-accessible ramp is nearly complete.

The infield is being meticulously watered and cared for, and the dugouts are painted and nearly ready for use.

The new ball park is being  built to replicate the original, pre-World War II structure.

A free meal, family activities and a Babe Ruth League game between Chadron and Gordon-Rusville will kick off the ball park’s rededication.
