The Hay Springs wrestling team went to the Garden County Invite Saturday.
In the 132 weight class, Levi Ray pinned Scottsbluff’s Brenton Riesen in 0:50 and Garden County’s Brady Tophoj in 2:29. Ray pinned Sedwick County-Fleming’s Kobryn Mann in 5:19 for first place.
In the 138 class Chris Ray pinned Southeast’s Tanner Hort in 1:40 and Sedgwick County-Fleming’s McCoy Sullivan in 0:35. He pinned Bridgeport’s Joe Weibert in 3:30 to finish in first place.
In the 145 class Jake Johnson lost to Bridgeport’s Todd Widener by 0-1. He pinned Perkins County’s Brennan Toner in 2:27, Bayard’s Dalton Harter in 1:34, and Minatare’s Josh Cinocco in 4:58. Johnson lost to Widener again by a 2-5 decision in the third place match.
In the 152 weight class Nathan Tobiasson fell to Hemingford’s Tarin Jerspersen in 1:00. He lost to North Platte’s Jacob Scott in a 5-10 decision.
