The Lady Hawks track team scored 101 points to finish in the runner-up position at the Panhandle Conference track meet on Saturday held in Chadron.
Jerilyn Scherbarth finished with two championships in the mile and two mile runs. Scherbarth was a member of the two mile relay team that finished in first place and she also finished 2nd in the 800 meter run. Other members of the winning two mile relay team were Kerisa Marx, Brittany Ferguson, and Jenn Scherbarth. Zoe Schneider was a silver medalist in the discus with a throw of 79’ 1 1/2”. She also finished 4th in the shot put with a throw of 27’2”. Placing along with Schneider in the weight throws was Brook Scherbarth who finished 5th in the discus, and 6th in the shot put. Kerisa Marx placed in four events including a tie for 2nd in the high jump with a jump of 4’4”. Marx also finished 6th in the 100 meter hurdles and the 300 meter hurdles and was a member of the winning two mile relay team.
Brittany Ferguson finished 4th in the 400 meter run and 6th in the high jump and was a member of the 3rd place 400 meter relay. Other members of the third place 400 meter relay team were Jenn Scherbarth, Whitney Heiting, and Cydney Jancik. Michaela Metcalf had a great individual day placing in four events. Metcalf finished 3rd in the 800 meter run, 4th in the triple jump, tied for 4th in the high jump, and 5th in the long jump. Jenn Scherbarth added two individual placings to her two relay medals. The younger Scherbarth finished 4th in the 800 meter run and 5th in the 400 meter dash. Heiting added two individual placings with a 4th in the 100 hurdles, and 6th in the triple jump, while Cydney Jancik finished 5th in the triple jump.
