The Hawks won five events at the Panhandle Conference track meet on Saturday enroute to scoring 107 points, to finish second behind the Hemingford Bobcats in the team scoring.
Individually, four Hawks won four events, and the Hawks two mile relay also finished in the gold medal position. Stevin Horrocks won both hurdles races, and also finished with a 2nd in the 100 meter dash and a 3rd in the high jump.
Austin Weyers won the triple jump with a leap of 42’ 1/4”, 2nd in the long jump, and was a member of the winning two mile relay team and the 3rd place 400 meter relay team. The Hawks other gold medalist was John Rotness in the high jump with a jump of 5’8”. Rotness was also a member of the 400 meter relay team that finished 3rd, 5th in the shot put, and 6th in the discus.
Joey Johnson finished 2nd behind Weyers in the triple jump, was 3rd in the 800 meter run, 3rd in the 2 mile, and 5th in the long jump. Jordan Houser finished 5th in the 200 meter dash, and was also a member of the two mile relay team and the 400 meter relay team.
Others placing were Chris Ray, who was a member of both relays, and Kolten Marx, who was a member of the winning two mile relay team.
