The Hawks track teams used the highly competitive Bayard B-C-D meet on Friday to prepare for the District track meet which will be held on Wednesday, the 9th at Creek Valley High School in Chappell. The competition was tough, but the Hawks were able to come home with some successes.
Leading the charge was the Lady Hawks two mile relay team. The quartet composed of Kerisa Marx, Jenn Scherbarth, Brittany Ferguson, and Jerilyn Scherbarth finished 2nd in a time of 11:11. The mile relay made up of Michaela Metcalf, Jenn Scherbarth, Brittany Ferguson, and Jerilyn Scherbarth finished 6th in 4:40.5. Individually, Jerilyn Scherbarth finished 6th in the 800 meter run, while Michaela Metcalf finished 6th in the long jump with a jump of 14’ 2” and 7th in the triple jump with a jump of 30’ 9”. Kerisa Marx rounded out the Lady Hawks scoring with an 8th place finish in the high jump. As a team, the Lady Hawks finished 11 of 14 teams with 22 points. In this meet they place 1-8 in the individual events and 6 places in the relays.
For the boys, Austin Weyers finished 3rd in the triple jump, and John Rotness finished 4th in the high jump.
