Last Tuesday and Wednesday, May 22 and 23, Renen Sahr of Gordon-Rushville and Regg Strotheide of Hay Springs travelled east to compete in the State C and D Golf Tournaments respectively.
The tournament was divided into two days, with each golfer golfing the entire course of 18 holes each day. The golfer’s combined scores then determined the winner.
Gordon-Rushville senior Renen Sahr competed in the State C Tournament at the Kearney Country Club, golfing a 79 his first day on the 71 par course. On day two Renen golfed an 83, for a combined total of 162 for the tournament. His score of 162 was good enough for 22nd place.
Renen will be golfing for Midland University in Freemont, Neb. next year.
Hay Springs junior Regg Strotheide competed in the State D Tournament at the Rivers Edge Golf Club in North Platte, golfing a 100 on the 70 par course on day one. Regg golfed a 103 on day two to give him a total score of 203, which was good enough for 81st place.
