Lady Hawks Split a Pair

The Lady Hawks volleyball team fell to Hemingford on Parents Night in four games 25-21, 25-11, 21-25 and 25-18 before rallying to win an exciting five set match against the Garden County Lady Eagles 17-25, 20-25, 25-22, 25-19, and 15-10 on Tuesday, Oct. 23. 

Elizabeth Roberts had a double double for the Lady Hawks with 11 points and 19 digs.  She also added 3 kills.  Kodee Muhr finished the game with 16 digs, 8 points, 8 assists, and 3 kills.  Michaela Metcalf led the team in hitting with 4 kills, and also added 12 points and 2 blocks.  

Against Garden County, a lot of defense was played by both teams.  Jesse Heiting led the team defensively with 41 digs and also added 17 points with 3 aces.  Kodee Muhr also added a double double with 15 points and 10 assists.  She also led the team in hitting with 5 kills.  Whitney Heiting again had a great night from the serving line with 16 points including 5 aces.  Michaela Metcalf chipped in 9 points, 4 kills, and 2 blocks. 

No stats were available for the Little Wound triangular, but the Lady Hawks dropped games to both Cody-Kilgore and host Little Wound on Friday night.  

In sub-district play, the Lady Hawks defeated Banner County in straight sets 25-21, 25-7, and 25-21 in the first round of action before falling to the Leyton Lady Warriors in the semi-finals in three to finish out their season at 10-17.
