The Sheridan County Board of Equalization met in regular session at 9 A.M. in the Commissioner’s Office, Courthouse. All members present. Kling stated that the meeting would be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Nebraska Open Meeting Act a copy of which is available on the guest desk. Andersen made a motion to accept the agenda. Krotz seconded the motion. All voted aye. Krotz made a motion to approve the minutes of 8-25-2014. Andersen seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.
Charles Schwaderer met with the board to discuss his Homestead Exemption. The State denied the exemption, due to Schwaderer not meeting the disability standards set by the Department of Health and Human Services. Assessor Winter stated that legislation has been introduced and passed for changes to disability for 2015. The board recommended Schwaderer visit with the state.
Assessor Winter visited with the board about Doug Krejci Homestead Exemption. Krejci has not filed a written protest within the 30 days so no change was made.
Assessor Winter reported to the board that an error in recording their ruling on a Property Valuation Protest filed by Darlene Perreten was made. The board asked Winter to consult with the County Attorney regarding the proper procedure for correcting the error.
Winter presented the board the permissive exemption list for publication. Andersen made a motion directing the list be published in the newspaper of record. Krotz seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.
