Rushville City Council Minutes March 30, 2015

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Chris Heiser at 6:00 p.m. as per the Municipal Code of the City of Rushville, Sheridan County, NE. Notice of the meeting was given by publication in the Sheridan County Journal Star on March 25, 2015 as required by law and delivered to the Council in person. Present: Snyder, Jansen, Willnerd. Absent: Lovell.

The following motions were duly made, seconded and passed.

1. To approve, accept and ratify the following items listed under the consent agenda: Council minutes of the February meeting and the February Treasurers Report.

2. Approved Sheridan County Public Transportation System agreement for July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016 for $229.00 per month.

3. Approved Teale Beguin’s application for a liquor license as manager of Sandridge Golf Course.

4. Approved advertising for summer help for May through August.

5. Approved Proclamation declaring the month of April 2015 as Fair Housing Month.

6. Approved all of the following bills for the City of Rushville and that warrants be drawn for same:

Diane Robbins-Mansel was present to discuss some health issues within the City of Rushville; Specifically the Old Strong Apartment building, car parked on Highway 20 right-away, and the hole in the lot on Loofborrow Street. She was informed that these matters are being addressed. She was informed that if she feels there are Ordinances within the City that are not being followed that she needs to take them to the Sheridan County Sheriff to follow up. She would also like to paint the sign in the City Park, the trash cans, and the wall at the Pocket Park. She was informed to go to Hinn’s Hardware and charge the material to the City of Rushville. There will be a city-wide clean-up for April 18th and 19th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Mark Gashler from the Sheridan County Journal Star was present and was asked to advertise this in the paper. She also requested a continuous agenda item for public comment. The City Attorney will look into this matter. 

The Miller property was discussed. The City Attorney has been handling this matter. He will get in contact with Brian Miller again and see where he is on taking care of this property.

The City Boards will meet as follows:

Golf Board April 7, 2015; Ambulance Board April 14, 2015; Park Board April 20, 2015; Cemetery Board April 21, 2015.
