The Sheridan County Commissioners met in regular session at 9 A.M. in the Commissioners Office, Courthouse. All members present. Paul stated that the meeting would be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Nebraska Open Meeting Act a copy of which is available on the guest desk. Andersen made a motion to accept the agenda. Krotz seconded the motion. All voted aye. Krotz made a motion to approve the minutes of 3-26-2018. Andersen seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.
Jenny Nixon, Extension Unit Leader and Jack Arterburn, Extension Educator, presented a proposed lease for office space from the New Christian Center. The proposed lease asks for an increase in rent from $500/month to $750. Several other concerns of the group lead to the lease being turned over to the County Attorney for review.
Road Superintendent Tom Kuester informed the board that he has given the check for $25,875 for the surplus motor grader to the Treasurer for deposit.
Kuester informed the board that an operator caught a Northwest Rural Public Power pole with the ripper. No claim filed to insurance.
Kuester stated that he plans to offer two more Army surplus trailers for sale at the Otte equipment auction on April 20.
Commissioner Andersen, Sheridan County representative to the Governing Board of the Region I Behavioral Health Authority, presented a proposed “Amended Agreement for the Formations of the Regional I Behavioral Health Authority and the Dissolution of the Panhandle Mental Health Center and Mental Retardation Facility.” The attorney for Region I will appear before the Board on April 16 to answer questions about the proposal which requires approval by all eleven member counties.
County Assessor Tina Skinner informed the Board that they have started flying the county for Pictometry.
