The Sheridan County Commissioners met in regular session at 9 A.M. in the Commissioners Office, Courthouse. All members present. Paul stated that the meeting would be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Nebraska Open Meeting Act a copy of which is available on the guest desk. Krotz made a motion to accept the agenda. Andersen seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Krotz made a motion to approve the minutes of 9-10-2018 with corrections. Andersen seconded the motion. All voted aye.
The board signed claim checks and audited and approved salary claims.
At 9:30 A.M. the board opened a public hearing on the proposed closure and vacation of a one mile section of 580th Road in Section 31, Township 32, Range 45. Road Superintendent Tom Kuester and petitioner Lyle Walgren appeared to speak in favor of the closure. There was no testimony from the public in opposition. At 9:45 A.M. Krotz made a motion to close the hearing. Andersen seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Krotz made a motion to adopt Resolution #2018-22 authorizing the vacation and abandonment of a part of Sheridan County Road Original Highway #20, T32N R45W Section 31, South side of the road; and T31N R45W Section 6, North side of the road: starting at 420th Lane ending at 430th Lane, 580th Road a distance of 1 (one) mile, with the land reverting back to the adjacent landowners. Andersen seconded the motion. All voted aye.
The board joined Sheriff Robbins and conducted their quarterly inspection of the jail.
Rick Bailey of Viaero was present to request a subdivision of a five acre parcel situated in the South Half of Section 24, Township 34, Range 45. Krotz made a motion to adopt Resolution #2018-23 authorizing the subdivision of property. Andersen seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.
