The Sheridan County Commissioners met in regular session at 9:30 A.M. in the Commissioners Office, Courthouse. All members present. Paul stated that the meeting would be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Nebraska Open Meeting Act a copy of which is available on the guest desk. Krotz made a motion to accept the agenda. Andersen seconded the motion. All voted aye. Andersen made a motion to approve the minutes of 10-22-2018. Krotz seconded the motion. All voted aye.
The board audited and approved claims. Andersen made a motion to authorize payment to Debra Michael for $99.02 for a tax correction refund. Krotz seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.
Road Superintendent Tom Kuester along with Chuck and Judith Lemp of Atarah Management Holdings LLC met with the board to discuss their proposal to meet the performance bond requirement for the Railroad rock ballast project. Andersen made a motion to replace the bond with a life insurance policy on either Chuck or Judith with Sheridan County as the beneficiary to cover $250,000, and to split the cost of the policy between the two parties. Krotz seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.
Kuester informed the board that he plans to purchase reflective cold weather coats for the road crew workers.
The board set November 26, 2018 at 10 A.M. for a public hearing to discuss the liquor license requests for Benny’s Mini Mart and Benny’s Restaurant.
